Micaela Ramirez on Advocacy, snowboarding, and Free Lift Tickets
First, this podcast is not only about free lift tickets, In fact it is about Micaela Ramirez. I seem to run into Micaela Ramirez on the deck of random skateboard contests. She always says hello to me, and we have brief words about whatever is going on at that particular moment in the skateboarding world. Recently Micaela reached out to me regarding Poseiden Foundations 10th annual Ladies Day and the Berrics event, and I happily agreed to come down to the Berrics to shoot skateboarding pictures. I have to say I was stunned by this event she (and her friends) puts on. Alhtough skateboarding is on one of its up-waves, Ladies Day somehow retained that precious element of skateboarding we all love…skateboarding and fun. After attending the Ladies Day event I thought to myself who is this person that created such a great skateboarding thing?
In part 1 (of this 2 part podcast series) Micaela Ramirez talks about her love for snowboarding and education. Micaela even includes tips on how a college student might obtain free lift tickets. And how snowboarding lead her to skateboarding. Among the varied topics in part 1 Micaela talks about the transcending power of literacy.
